Moving to the country after a lifetime of city living poses some interesting challenges and opportunities.
For example, we are suddenly free from
- neighborhood covenants

This school bus and utility truck were among our first purchases (read more about it in the journal))
- cramped spaces
- noise pollution
- traffic congestion
- noisy neighbors
What we are also suddenly free from are
- cable access (a huge deal for New Media professionals)
- public sewer systems (we don't even know where the septic tank is...)
- water that doesn't necessarily taste like rusty nails
- reliably quick emergency response systems (the local news paper had an article about response times that were over 45 minutes - YIKES!
- ice cream truck routes (dang!)
