The house at 2505 Leonard Rd., Martinsville, Indiana is known as an earth berm, or earth sheltered home. It is essentially underground, except for the living room roof. Everything else is under about 1-2 feet of earth. The shell is made of poured concret with rebar reinforcement. The house was built in 1979 and we bought it in September 2005.
